Laufey Earrings are beautiful hoops with handmade drop-shaped resin beads — sealed with a strand of your horse's hair and a small heart. A discreet horse jewelry piece and personal horsehair keepsake elegant enough for special moments, easy enough to wear every day.

  • Size: 20mm diameter, 30mm long (including pearl). 
  • Materials: Gold-Plated/925 Sterling Silver (100% nickel-free). Jewelry-grade resin. Hypoallergenic.

  • Bead Color: We use pearly white for silver jewelry, and gold for gold-plated jewelry. If you have a specific color wish, let us know in the “Bead colour and special wishes” field just above the add-to-cart button.

After checkout, you'll receive detailed instructions on how to prepare and send your horse's hair, which we must receive before production can begin.

Shipping & Delivery

Sending us the hair:

  • You cover the cost of sending the hair to us.
  • Parcel shop (recommended): Address the parcel to DZYZ and ship it to a pick-up point at Kvickly Holte or Holte Kiosk.
  • Studio drop-off (by appointment): The address is in your order confirmation email — please write to us first to arrange a time.

Receiving your finished jewelry:

  • Shipping is calculated and added at checkout. You receive a tracking number when your piece is dispatched.
  • Any unused hair is returned together with the jewelry.
  • Local pickup: Free by arrangement — we let you know when your order is ready.

Care Instructions

To preserve your jewelry, please avoid:

  • Submerging it in water (remove when showering, swimming).
  • Contact with chemicals (perfumes, lotions, hairspray).
  • Scratching or harsh impacts.
  • Prolonged sun exposure to prevent resin yellowing over time. Store in a soft, dry pouch when not in wear.

Return & Refund Policy

All sales are final on custom-made pieces. Because your jewelry is handcrafted to order with your own horse's hair, we cannot accept returns, exchanges or offer refunds once the order is placed — so please review your customisation details carefully before confirming.

Every bead is cast by hand and one of a kind. Small variations in the beads and their texture are inherent to the craft, not flaws.

Creation Process & Timeline

    1. Place Order

    Once your order is confirmed, you will receive instructions on how to ship your horse hair to us. Your customization details (like bead color) will be finalized at this stage.

    2. Ship Hair

    You send your horse hair to a designated parcel shop (Pakkeshop) or deliver it to our studio by prior arrangement.

    3. Creation

    Your spot in the queue is secured once your hair arrives at our studio. Please allow up to a month for the careful handcrafting of your piece, though most are ready in two to three weeks.*

    4. Delivery

    Your finished jewelry and the remainder of your horse hair is shipped back to you. You will receive a tracking number.

*Please note: As soon as the creation process has begun, the design cannot be changed. The process of encapsulating your horse's hair in resin is permanent and irreversible.

Bead Color

Your Custom Bead:
To create your one-of-a-kind piece, we need your horse's hair and your color choice.

  • Bead Color: Please state your desired resin color in the “Bead colour and special wishes” field above the add-to-cart button. If no color is chosen, we will contact you after your hair arrives.
  • Special Requests: For any complex customizations, please describe them in the same box. Note that these may incur an additional fee, for which we will seek your approval.

Guide to prepare

Hair Instructions

Quantity: Please provide around 10 strands of hair, each 15-30 cm long. Sending a few extra strands is greatly appreciated, as it allows us to select the best hair for a perfect bead. Any unused hair will be carefully returned to you with your finished jewelry.

Type: Mane hair is what we prefer, but tail hair works too — just pick the finest strands you can find.

Packaging: Securely place the hair in a ziplock bag with your order number and full name written on a piece of paper inside.
